*HDC inactive* & *Air Susp Inactive*

Hi guys i pulled into my drive last night with the rover on full lock to the right and the dreaded BONG sounded with *HDC inactive* & *Air Susp Inactive* displayed on the dash and dropped to access mode i left the car for a few mins then took it out for a run again, no errors displayed and the ride height was normal again until I put the car on full lock to the right again same thing happened the BONG and the message *HDC inactive* & *Air Susp Inactive* and lowered to access mode the car still drives etc and when you stop switch the ignition off then start up a few seconds later everything is clear and works normally could it be just a sensor as the suspension pump only runs for a couple of seconds on start up so I can't see it being the air pump or a leak? Anybody got any ideas?
Cheers stu

This is exactly the set of errors I got last week when I was going around a wet round about and lost traction (turning hard right).

When you were turning right did you lose traction on any wheels? L322 4.4 Vogue MY03 - Her name is Bulletproof .... you already know she's not Smile

Hi there no loss of traction and no other issues apart from the suspension dropping to access mode but it is now happening every time the car is put into full right lock? Someone must have some ideas on this as I really don't want to visit my local stealer Big Cry

The loss of traction I was asking about was not after the error message, but during your full right lock manouver?
Are you turning a steep uphill or downhill corner which lead a wheel to scrabble for traction?

I'm wondering whether theres a link between the Stability control activation in your problem..... L322 4.4 Vogue MY03 - Her name is Bulletproof .... you already know she's not Smile

Hi Stan I did a bit of research before i posted and I'm going to check the speed sensor behind the wheel but apart from that there isnt really anything that is the same as what is happening with my rover ? It's gota new batteryby the way so it's not that either

Just a random thought I have been looking at my front height sensors as they are playing up and I cant bottom it yet but the height sensor is directly above the steering rack. The cable or plug are not getting caught or damaged on full lock? Mine was a blue one! Smile

Hi Stu
Not in the car at the min so cant sort photos but if you turn the wheels on full lock and look from the front the height sensor's are directly above the track rod. The cable comes out the bottom Via a waterproof plug ( I think they vary from year to year) the cable then goes behind the wing liner and up the side of the plastic box that has the connectors for the brake wear and abs sensors then off to the ecu. Mine has an intermittent earth fault according to the code reader even when unplugged but I cant find anything obvious and have replaced sensor, Plug and the first 9" of cable ( it comes as a repair kit).
So I need to start at the ecu end next. Mine was a blue one! Smile

PS been reading previous threads because of my own fault but I think you need a fault reader to pinpoint the fault. The battery seems a fav talking point. good luck Mine was a blue one! Smile

Guys for future reference knowledge, I had a faulty Brake Master Cylinder which completely fixed this error when replaced. L322 4.4 Vogue MY03 - Her name is Bulletproof .... you already know she's not Smile
