I am suspicious - is 621 the maximum range the readout will show? I just had a very happy 28.1mpg return from a tank (560 miles on 90.05 litres....), and it showed 621, but I've had it show 621 when the avg was 24 on a tank full.....

Yep, after a full reset and some gentle driving the max it will go up to is 621 miles range. It will stay there until the car calculates the range to be less than 621 when it starts going down. |

621 Miles is equal to 1000 Kilometers which could explain it. |
