Rear nearside brake disc damaged

So it appears that a stone or something scrapy has got between the pad and the disc and scored a lovely deep groove in it. The offside one appears to be ok, if nearing replacement time. Do I need to get both done together or can just one be done at a time? It's in for an oil service on Wednesday so I assume they will try to get me to have it done then?

The rule is that discs should be swapped in axle pairs, so as to keep the breaking force equal on both sides of the car.

The discs can be had cheap enough from euro car parts (other retailers are available), remember to replace the pads at the same time Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Good idea to get them from Euro car parts, I might do that and get the local indy to fit them if the main dealer tries to take the Censored . I've had reasonable service from them so far, but I'm expecting them to quote double ECP. At least they aren't like one of my old cars brakes which had integral wheel bearings so were v. expensive to replace.

Get them to paint the discs before fitting as then the hub part wont rust quickly... Obviously not the friction surface, but the rest of the disc...

Got it all done while I had an oil service and they did me a deal on the OEM parts. So it was a fair bit cheaper than I expected although I did have to have the front pads done too.
