We never got a diesel Range Rover in North America and still dont have 1 diesel land rover product offered over here it makes no sense AT ALL.

If I purchased a TD6 with transmission from the UK is it possible to convert this over to diesel. I know the cost may make this conversion not worth while.

Would the fuel tank and pumps remain the same?

Or would fitting a LPG kit make more sense.... I just dont know if there is any filling stations in america. 2003 RR 4.4 only 40k miles (current)

I would think that the change over is quite extensive as it affects almost every system in the car. Have you considered an LPG conversion ?? Or import of a TDV8/TD6 from Belgium/France/Germany ?? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

How much is "gas" now in the USA?

In UK "gas" is @ £1.47 ($2.32) a litre and diesel @ £1.41 a litre ($2.23)

or @ $8.78 per US gallon (gas) and @ $8.74 for diesel .

If filling stations aren't in abundance you could get it fitted and ten a big home filling tank and pump setup to help reduce costs more and fill up with that as I've heard of people in the uk doing this???


Failing that importing one from the eu would be cheaper in the long run as you would need almost a whole car of parts to get it going and something like a black box or such like to ensure all systems can talk properly... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Gas is quite expensive in my part of canada, no where near as bad as the UK or europe. Currently a litre of premium fuel is $1.48 so its getting close to $6.00 gallon.

The lowest price in the U.S for a gallon of regular gas is around $3.60us . What makes no sense is Canada sends crude oil to the U.S yet we are paying quite a lot more at the pump. Does that make sense ?? 2003 RR 4.4 only 40k miles (current)

We (Nigeria) are sending a massive amount of oil overseas, then buy some of it back as petrol and diesel and the state subsidies related to that are being stolen at a ridiculous rate. So actually Canada is not doing too badly It is probably the Canadian government stealing, oh sorry TAXING, it to compensate for the environmental impact of oil production, transport, fuel import, oh sorry FILLING THE BUDGET HOLES ON THE BACK OF DRIVERS, like every government in the world (the Dutch are very good at that, despite all the refineries in Rotterdam) that has created a massive budget deficit because they have been to generous with bloody social services, early retirement etc. etc.

I would have expected that LPG is relatively easy to get in a country with a lot of gas BBQs ?? It is worth checking into LPG, it will be massively more simple than converting it to diesel. The other alternative is still import of a diesel version from LHD European countries. Due to taxes on new cars, Holland is out (THIEVES, sorry), Belgium and Germany are some of the better countries to import from.
