TD6 vs V8 diff

I know they have different part numbers but can the rear diff from an early petrol V8 L322 be fitted to an early TD6 L322. I want to know if its a direct fit or are modifications needed?.
And same question regarding transfer boxes.

Thanks

Unfortunately the TD6 & the V8 final drives are not interchangeable as they have a different crown wheel & pinion ratio – 3.73:1 for the V8 and 4.10:1 for the TD6.

The NV225 transfer box, however, is identical for both the V8 & the TD6. The diesel just has an additional damping weight bolted to the casing close to the front propshaft drive flange
