Ireland 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Java Black
'07 TDV8 "Engine System Failure"

Hi Lads.
Anyone recognise this.... and remember the cause?

FFRR doesn't get much mileage, but had to do a 350km run last week... and she let me down after about 250k.

Having been cruising at about 180kph, I slowed down to 50kph for the Toll Plaza. As I exited the plaza, the engine just blurred out on me, with 2 amber warning lights on the dash, and the LCD Panel said "Suspension Lowering". I pulled her over to the side of the road, turned off the ignition for a minute, and started her up, and away we went to finish the journey.

I haven't had the Power Reduction since, but now, within about a minute of starting the engine, I get a message on the LCD saying "Engine System Failure" and a single "Bong", but no warning lights.

As our local RR Stealer is about as competent as a Career Politician, I have no faith in them to actually track down the real fault, so I went down to someone I know that has the AutoGuide LR Diagnostic tool. There were a few error codes, many apparantly from when I put a brand new battery in the RR about 2 months ago, but there were also a couple of strange ones...... something to do with Fan Speed?????

We cleared the error codes and drove the RR, and checked the codes again.... similar codes, but not the same. (I'm waiting for him to email me the screenshots).

So, still, everyday I get the "Engine System Failure" message, and just don't trust that the RR won't let me down.

Has anyone come across this or a similar problem, and found the cause?

Regards
