as the title suggest, this is my first post....been browsing for a few months now.

anyway excuse the long drivle.... i recently (just replaced my dsp amp and fitted a mk4 satnav... got it all working fine the like a plonker i connected a spare red wire into the brass nipple on the amp...and puff....nothing working
does anyone now a decent auto electrics near birmingham....being a h@iry ar$ed builder i think ive done
enough damage to try anymore diy's...

Check your fuses first, could be that simple.... .

Hi Joe....checked fuses number 8 and 49...seem ok...not blown...thats what worries me..

now getting "trans failsafe program" message on dash

Start off with the simple stuff!

Disconnect the wire you connected!

Then, disconnected the battery and leave it for ten minutes. While you are doing this, remove the floor at the left hand side of the boot and remove the large black socket from the radio and check the little ten Amp fuse there.

Put it all back together.

Connect battery and start engine - turn steering wheel lock-to-lock both ways and go for a little drive - that might reset the trans failsafe message. Do a few miles to charge the battery - you might have run it down a bit. Is stuff working now?

All working good now....apart from
can't control volume...agghhh....

Would be grateful if anyone's got a pic of the amp connectors...
need to redirect some loose wires....
