They're very closely related to the Cayenne I believe?

Also saw on the French autoroute last week, one of those new VW truck things, can't remember the name. Looks good, but in an "I'm not really a truck" kinda way, if you know what I mean! Bit too smart for it's own good!

My next door neighbour has just taken delivery of his. It is rather nice. Black with black interior and a panoramic sunroof. He got a servicing package for the next 3 years for a few hundred quid as well. Previously..

VW Truck thing: (VW Amrock)

From 2012 Volkswagen will offer the Amarok pickup truck with an 8-speed automatic transmission option.

It’s not about showing off that car makers put more gears in their boxes anymore. These units have undeniable performance and economic advantages. In Amarok’s case, when combined with BlueMotion Technology it’ll deliver greater ride comfort and good off-road skills with a level of fuel consumption below that of the same model with a manual gearbox.

Equipped with permanent 4-wheel drive and a new132 kW / 180 PS 2.0-litre bi-turbo TDI engine, the 8-speed Amarok does 7.6 litres per 100 km and CO2 emissions of 199 g/km. The 8th gear was configured as a fuel-saving overdrive gear that operates at reduced engine speed.

Performance-wise, 0 to 100 km/h is irrelevant for a diesel-powered pickup truck. What you need is good in-gear acceleration, and the Amarok does 80 to 120 km/h in 8.5 seconds, and tops 179 km/h.

My cousin took delivery of a brand new VW Tourag on 1st March. It's the 3.0 Diesel, blumotion ? and I've yet to have a drive in it.

It looks really good. A larger version of the Tiguan - literally. When it first came out, it was a Cayenne with a different front, but it doesn't seem like it any more.

Very quiet on startup. He rates it, and he knows what he wants in a car, having had 2 Ferrari 575M's in the past.........with a Defender Td5 !

He loves the Range Rover, but it always ends up at "I ain't paying that....."

Looks like you going to offer us one in the very near future Gaz and trying to get us "warm" on the item. Wink

For a Dutchman a Volkswagen (peoplescar) is something German, somethinig blurkh, something baseballcap in the wrong way on your hat and stereo up to 3000Watt, black immitation leather jacket and wrong rolex that fell of a delivery truck and... Yawn
Sorry I let myself go. Have to do 25 posts to tell you guys what I would like to PX on a FFRR. Getting there Laughing

It looks a lot like a korean 4X4, it is to sleek and nobody owning one will ever have it strawling through the mud. I give in the RR is getting a little "tyred". But still a lot more character.

No I won't be selling a 2012 VW as I don't have one. I don't even offer my FFRR & D3 on here any more although the website is always worth a look..... Wink

I sell my cars quite quickly based on National Advertising. I have rarely sold a car to the forum due the limited audience compared with the whole population. I do continue to offer the buy your car service though and help with valuations - now and then Wink

Its still the same as the Cayenne... I have a friend in Germany on the design team... Works on that and the Bentley believe it or not...

Every time he comes to visit us he drives the latest VW mule (usually not available for a couple of years in the UK)

Craig Thumbs Up
