Carbon Fibre Center Console

Hi guys,

was up early on a mission, decided i wanted to carbon fibre the centre console,

including the horrible grey surrounds around the heating dials, took approx 1 hour

carefully dismantling the whole lot, and it was scary, RANGE ROVER OVERFINCHED 4.2 S/C

I was thinking of doing that as well but in a walnut to match my existing trim. Primarily the two strips either side of the gearbox tunnel and maybe the window switch pack. Its hard to find though..... Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

Thanks Lolo not far from me .

I have seen some wood adhesive vinyl on a few kitchen sites the stuff used to wrap kitchen unit doors etc and available in a high gloss. Would need to see it close up to see if it would do though. Look at option B in link below looks very similar to Walnut colour in RR Thumbs Up Also a nice gloss black Thumbs Up

Yes I have seen that stuff, need to just test it actually stretches,

And is able to curve round edges without getting damaged, and to make sure

It doesn't scratch easy as well

True about scratches but im sure the flexibilty would be fine especially if applied using a heat gun but at 5.99 a roll its bound to be worth a try. Failing that theres always Ronseals paint and grain Whistle Laughing Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

Gosh that was a little harsh.
I should be grateful you didnt mean the yellow screwdriver I guess!
Anyway I think it will all look good and watch with interest as have a skinning kit waiting to see action on door trims.

Today I did a bit of carbon fibre wrapping, it's not a easy as they make out especially on fiddly stuff like round the dials and the vinyl doesn't stick that well to the plastic. I have done the side strips either side of the centre console and the two lower dash panels - I will refit tomorrow and maybe post some photo's - but only if it looks nice Very Happy Geoff
