As above, it is possible but there is a lot of money involved...

I agree the cost to switch it across would be very expensive. Not sure if the NZ tax is the same as in Oz but the cost of buying a new or used L322 there is huge.

I recall a guy a while back on another forum moved to NZ and used one of those massive containers and shipped a few cars over that he had owned for a while and netted a tidy sum on them.

Mmmmm, if I plan it right I can fill two or three containers (40 feet) with FFRRs before I leave and I will have mine all paid for. Import duty on cars does not exist in NZ by the looks of it, you only pay GST on the value of the car. Maybe prices seem due to the exchange rate or just in comparison to other cars. Anyway, I will definitely look into bringing some over to the Islands MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Just hire an old merchant ship for the move instead of containers by the sounds of it

Oz and NZ have a punitive Luxury Car Tax that gets applied to the sale of every new 'luxury' car; be it an Audi, BMW, Jaguar, LR, Mercedes... etc.
