Sometimes I wish we could swear on here!

Because then I could tell you how I feel about having waited in all day for a new laptopto be delivered, which hasn't arrived. the courier's tracking website STILL says "on van for delivery today" even at 2300 hrs. I called them earlier and they said someone would check and call me back - you won't be surprised to hear what (didn't) happen next....

I'm flippin' fumin'. That's actually a lie because it's much worse than that. I have a whole string of banned words and names to use on the poor sap who does eventually contact me about this, just before I bite their face off. I've lost a whole day stuck in the house waiting, and I needed to config the machine this weekend because I'm away (on business) from Monday morning.

and breathe.....

I know how you feel fella Sad

Ordered a printer (albeit used to keep costs down for the job i have on) and they said all the normal bits that they didn't include with it. Just power leads, manuals, CD's, Cartridges...

Get the thing and the power lead that i paid extra for wasn't there, then open it up and find the Print Head's aren't there!!! MSG'd them and they said they class them as cartridges (WTF!!!).

Anyway quick check online, they are £50 each and it needs 2.... This puts the price of the thing right upto what i could get a brand new one for! And this is after i came off a night shift at 0700 and have been msg'ing them on and off all day and still waiting for them to say they will either send me the power cable and print heads OR give me my money back if i drop it off next week so i can get another unit.

GRRR some people just wanna take your money and bend you over and then ask you to apply the KY and think you'll take it! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Censored Censored Censored FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

It happens Cappo. If that's the worst thing which happens to you in 2012 then you'll be doing just fine. Thumbs Up

If it really is THAT important you had it friday then why wasn't it ordered a week before? Move away from Project Manager methods, i.e. leave everything to the last minute and the shout at anyone who doesn't meet a deadline, You'll find life is a much more peaceful place and you are vastly less likely to get an ulcer. Delivery drivers are what they are. Just be grateful they aren't Range Rover mechanics Wink

You are of course all correct!! Bit of a major over-reacting dummy-spitting exercise from me yesterday, but you know, it's just ultra-frustrating (a) to be slightly excited about something which someone tells you is actually going to happen today and (b) to waste a whole day staying in because they asked you to, only to ignore you. Then there's the whole "customer services, Mon-Fri 9-5 only" bit, so I can't even rant at them.

But yes, it could be a lot worse.

And Mick - because what I want isn't sold in the shops.....

Cappo- You rant on. If they can't do what they say they will do then, let them have it. Too many people afraid to say what they think these days. They **** me off. Whoops I'm ranting now - must be because I'm a grumpy old man ...apparently Once a Blue, Always a Blue

I absolutely hate waiting for deliveries! Bain of my life! That said, we order from Island 4X4 quite alot and always the following day I get an email to my iPhone stating an accurate time for delivery (giving the courier company a 60 min window to deliver) and not once have they missed a deadline! How's that for great service!

I wish all places were like that CTC but some are just a 'on this day and thats it' though with the amount of stuff i sometimes ship I'm happy as it keeps costs right down and does what it says on the tin as long as i pack it right Very Happy

Collect+ is a great service i use for smaller items as super cheap and you can just drop stuff off locally and saves you having to wait for it to be picked up Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I asked the driver about the system last week and he told me his handheld PDA type devise you sign as a customer constantly updates his office which allows their computer system to generate these emails... Tech can be great "when it works"

The sooner this type of system gets rolled out as an industry standard the better IMHO...
