Neil, Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Andy's a very helpful chap - He has sorted Pirelli ATR's for the wifes D3 and only a couple of weeks ago some OEM tyres for my FFRR Cool

You should be able to "touchy feely" too as he has many brands normally in stock and will give you the Pro's and Con's for each but in my experience will never push you towards a particular make Razz

275/45 is too small for the ffrr , it should be a 255/50 , 265/50 or 275/50.

The 45 profile is for the sport. V8 or else ...

45 profile in the 275 width is almost the same as 255/50 sidewall depth, the rolling radius will be almost the same, they are fine. This size is the nearest to 255/50/20 you will get with a diameter of 29.7" as opposed to 30" with the std size.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

255 in a 45 profile would be too small though. 275/50's will fit, will slightly raise gearing of the car, slightly decrease acceleration, slightly increase top speed and may catch on full articulation, unless you use wheels with greater off set.

I have a few friends running GG AT's in 275/45/20's on a FFRR as winter tyres without any problems except slightly more road noise.
