Firstly I'm not swayed by forum sponsors usually. And I prefer to make my own mind up. The reviews help, but personal experience counts, so I had an open mind when dealing with LPR.
The eagle-eyed amongst you will know that my burning smell problem was traced to leaky cam cover gaskets.
Guava diagnosed this, but it turned out that Lookers had replaced them in December 2011.
I called Lookers to explain and they said they wanted my RR back for the work to be rectified FOC.
Slight problem in that I'm an hour's drive from them and it would really screw my working day, not to mention being terribly inconvenient.
I spoke to Wayne Hamilton at every stage on this. He offered to have my RR collected and returned same day. Not only was he totally unfazed by my location, but he also did an exceptionally decent thing and replaced the petrol used in collecting and delivering.
Their collection / delivery drivers were very professional and, remarkably, returned my RR with the same average fuel economy (zeroed a week previously) as before.
I'll go further. Wayne not only told me he'd call at certain times, he actually kept his word.
The work was done. My RR was returned by the time stated. I had exceptional (and in my experience with other manufacturers dealers / specialists, very rare) communication at every stage and honestly (and I'm a fussy b*gger) couldn't fault Wayne or the LPR ethos. Wayne even called to say my RR was parked outside my work office with the driver waiting.
