Transfer Box Oil

Bought a litre of Castrol BOT 26 FMB 1 transfer box oil from the local stealer today.
I will ignore the ridiculous price we pay fro LR stuff in NZ and just use it as they are the only supplier.
But the bottle has 75w90 GL4 on it. I am assuming that they have used liquid gold as a additive for this oil or have we once again been shafted by LR.
The Tru Trac Torsen diff I fitted to my 300TDi Discovery runs normal diff oil as do many other diffs of this type.
Does anyone have any experience of running different oils in the transfer box?

Adrian

Slightly confused. If they sold you "Castrol BOT 26 FMB 1" why is it not "Castrol BOT 26 FMB 1" instead of some other oil?

This stuff was supposedly specially formulated for the transfer box and only this transfer box, so would recommend you use the right stuff. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink
