Thanks guys planning on pulling panels at the weekend and having an investigation so will pop down the rear of the roof lining and check the antenna seal.

On mine (2013 AB) there is nothing in the front to indicate it. When I press the seat button next to the Hazard switch the screen then displays the massage / heat and cooling options for the front.

Mine did this last year. 2013 AB.

I found if I had the key present it would unlock and open from the outside when using the handle. Wouldn't open any other way.

It was the latch that had failed. ...

Maybe unplugged?
They could have been sticking and previous owner just unplugged them. Be worth a look.

Update to the post for any future searches.

A new lock mechanism solved the problem.
There was a fault showing for no communication to BCM from the running board but nothing with the locking.

Fitted them and they look just fine.
Was a little concerned they would look a little "off roady" but they are ok.

What I did was flush the hinges out with WD40 while doing the open / close doors thing to operate the steps (the stuff running out was pretty brown / rust coloured fluid)
