Turbos - the shop have said the intercooler is full of oil and at least Bank B turbo is shot, which would explain the way it was "almost" starting, but with a MAF imbalance.

Thanks for the offer. I'm in Walsall, so not far away at all.
All checking has been done with an Autel MaxiCom.
Next step is getting it towed/trailered somewhere, but everyone I've called so far ... |

Well that hasn't worked.
Two new MAFS, no error with ignition on, but a MAF error on Bank B as soon as you try and start the car. Basic circuit check shows +12V and +5v coming through OK. Bank B is ... |

Error that came back was MAF sensor short circuit, so off to the shops for a pair of MAFS.
Apparently these are like BMs - any MAF fault and the ECU stops the engine from running at all. |

I'd have to say no idea.
Would an old filter cause this kind of problem, if so its probably an easy thing to change out just to eliminate it. |

Dont buy a FFRR they said, it'll be a nightmare they said.
So I bought one anyway - 2010 TDV8 in bronze, with 100k miles.
That was a year ago, and since then I've covered a massive 4k miles hehe ... |
