Update:
The wheel freed off almost immediately after coming off the gravel and onto the asphalt. I have now disassembled the disc and checked the brake shoes and all is well.
I guess it just proves ... |

It's not the caliper and pads that are stuck, it's the internal parking brake. Which is really weird to me, as the car was parked with the parking brake OFF (to prevent this from happening.. ... |
