The battery responds fine to a drop-test so not sure what had caused it to drain. Anyway, I'm going to disconnect the battery and see if everything re-boot ...

Don't worry Andy, the acronyms would probably only mean something to the shooting fraternity on here. BASC stands for the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, and CA stands for the Count ...
