Attached the new loom with can bus box on old loom (that used to be in the old radio):
- Steering wheel controls function
- NO SOUND

The new loom has no connection at all with the 2 12pin connectors. However it connect with the 16pin connector, almost all of them.

If you look inside the original big black plug you took off the bm54, are there not 2 smaller sub plugs inside you can move across to the plug from the new head unit and then connect it to the bm54 ? ...

Sounds like another option using the same principle. But how do I feed the PRE AMP OUT from the new unit into the TAPE FEED in the old one? To my recollection the old unit has only two connections.
