Update:
For different reasons (oil leak related) I had the whole underside of the car cleaned, and the whistling disappeared.
A happy unintended consequence of that. |

Drove 350kms after the garage cleaned ther underside of the car and couldn't find a leak.
No oil in sight. All looking very clean and in great condition so obviously happy abo ... |

When I bought my RR, TDV8, 3.6, I did a 300km run home and averaged 9.6ltrs/100kms (29.5 MPG UK).
