The sunroof on my l322 td-6 2002 will not close.I closed the two front windows at the same time as closing the sunroof and now it wont close......Getting worried as i have to leave in Sydney airport for a week while i come up to London.
It goes to the close position then immediatly returns to the open position, anyone have any ideas ?

You might have something stuck in the sunroof channel and the range rover thinks that. You might need reset the sunroof do a search on here. Think you have to hold the sunroof button for a certain amount of time.

If you keep your finger/pressure on the button when closing it should close OK. It may be something on the rails that is stopping it auto closing. Very common. Thumbs Up

I've had this and there didn't seem to be one cure for it other than keep trying, try closing it without the one touch feature, by holding it forward.

I also found that if when its re-opened itself, press the sunroof button to tilt it. THEN press the full close and it should work- that's what worked mostly for me when it has happened. Discovery 4 HSE

Moly grease would be too messy, a squirt of silicone spray on the runners should work Thumbs Up

Thanks everone for your suggestions. Its night time here now, and have now got it closed by using the tilt button, then the close button.
It still does the open and close thing with the one touch button so i would assume that there is sand in the runners. Tomorrow I will clean and spray some silicone in as suggested.

The runners can also get slightly bent and no manner of spray grease or silicone will get the auto close to work. You may have to get used to manual finger closing Very Happy
