Navcoder and MKII Sat Nav?

Looking at enabling TV in Motion using Navcoder (just because I can!) but have read somewhere that if you try this with the MkII Navigation system it will kill the Sat Nav.

Can anyone confirm one way or the other? .

Can't think why it would kill the mk3 nav Rolling Eyes All you are doing is reading the code for the TV and changing a setting for it - If in doubt unplug it Laughing I dont believe you need the Nav connected to recode the TV module.

I used Navcoder a few times on the old motor, once to enable the original analogue unit, then the same for a Hybrid tuner and then I hooked up a friends tv tuner to my car to do the same for him - All very straight forward Thumbs Up

I still have the ibus interface which is for obvious reason no use to me anymore so I guess I should chuck on the bay or here first Whistle

I have just re-read the "Readme" notes in the Navcoder software I have and I cannot see anything that says it wont work on a MK3 in fact they specifically mention that it works on the earlier BMW MK2 so all should be fine Thumbs Up

I use navcoder.

I have enabled TV in motion, used it to turn of errors after changing a few lights to leds, and enabled daytime running lights (which ive now turned back off)

I have had no issues with my sat nav. (which is a mk2)

Thumbs Up Reformed

The RR has the Mk3 nav as standard.

Do you mean the Mk3 or Mk2? Or are we talking about a different car?

Well I was assuming Joe meant the standard earlier CD based nav system which is what mine is, so that's a mk3 then! Reformed

Thanks for all your input.

I mean the CD based version - the one that came with an '02

Will give it a go and see what happens, worst case scenario is I have to upgrade to the DVD version Wink

Am fortunate to have pigeon in my DNA, never lost just don't know where I am, so just keep driving until I find a signpost Wink .

Navcoder will work fine on your system - which is a mkIII.
MkI and II were only available on BMW's.
