Hi,

Can anyone advise why, even if turning the knob to hot, that the centre face vents blow cold?

Even with heat on full. If I take off auto and put face vents on the drivers side centre vent is warm and the passenger side luke warm. Put on auto it's ice cold.

It's on the TD6. I'm thinking something sticking due to being on cold all over the summer months.

Anywhere to squirt some WD type lube?

Just want to sort before the cold weather sets in!

Also, the main heaters dont seem that warm, especially when compared to the TDV8. I'm erring on a slightly blocked matrix or do these have blend motor issues as the earlier P38's? Car has full history and I'm positive it's something due to lack of use.

Have you checked to see how good your coolant is?

if its never been changed i imagine it could be quite gooey and could be causing the issue and need a good flush.

there is meant to be 13litres in the system whcih is quite a bit of water and anti freeze to sloosh about in there and there are going to be plenty of 'slow spots' in the system for dirt and so forth to accumulate

Yes, Coolant is good and at the right level.

The prvious owner (A forum member) looked after the car impeccably. It has full LR History.

I'm sure it's something like a blend motor (If they have them) sticking slightly due to lack of use during the warm months. Yes mate I have.

That's how I discovered the issue. TDV8 gets extremely hot when you do that. The TD6 stays ice cold. If you divert airflow to vents only they are warm(ish) but not hot (Includes rear vents)  08 model TDV8 Vogue SE Rimini Red/ parchment. 04 TD6 Vogue Oslo Blue / parchment

Hi Stan,

On auto the vents are ice cold no matter where the vent setting or the heater knob setting is.

When over riding the auto and putting on face vents with the temp set at 28 and the knob on 3 spot red the drivers side blows at I would say 22 deg and the pass at 18 (compared to TDV8).

As soon as auto is selected it doesn't matter where the heat setting is on the car or the vent they are ice cold.

The foot and screen settings are warm but not "toasty".

There's penty of air flow, However, I'm also thinking to change the pollen filter in case thats blocked.

the only thing i can think of is maybe the blend motor sticking or the heating core behind the dash [i think] is blocked ..

btw didnt you buy this td6 of a forum member , if so doesnt this person have any answers.. ... - .- -.

IF I can find the location I can give it a squirt of WD or similar.

I have discuseed with the previousd owner. Last time he used the heaters they worked fine (I have absolutely no reason to doubt him and he is a 100% genuine person and really struggled to let the car go). Taking into consideration the car hasn't used it's heaters for probably 7 or 8 months and did sit for considerable time due to him working away I am positive it's a sticky motor or similar that needs "massaging" to get working again.

I thought I would ask the question here to see if anyone has experienced the issue and found the cause. The previous owner is more worried about it than I am to be honest (I've bought a warranty for the car anyway).
