I bought this too for mine. Its suggested on a lot of the detailing sites thats its best to mix the paint and the laquer in a mix of about 4 parts to 1 this is better than applying paint first and laquer afterwards as it improves your chances of a better finish. Its the laquer that gives your paint the shiney finsh. I did this however and found the laquer in the kit became very gooey and started to dry quickly making it difficult and lumpy to apply. I Had some halfords laquer I mixed instead with the paint and allowed me more time to use and touch up. The brush that comes with it is useless you are better applying it with a fine art brush as this gives more control . The secret is to apply as little as possible and build up in layers . I normally mix paint on laquer on a piece of old cardboard and use this as a palette. For a sctrach its best to apply using a cocktail stick. Hope that helps. |

If you need touch up paint these people produce 100ml cans to order for about £10. The paint comes with pre-mixed laquer if you don't order laquer separately, even supplied with a paintbrush. The paint is good quality and is far easier to apply than "touch-up kits". I've used a number of tins on previous cars with good results. Also supply aerosol cans if you want to colour code bits or repaint larger areas.

On a detailing course, the bloke advised to go to Halfords and buy a couple of empty touch up bottles, (they should have them behind the counter) and put your touch up paint in there, they have a finer brush and also a small metal nib which is ideal for stone chips. The dealer ones, the brush is too big. 2006 Mercedes CLS
