2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Epsom Green

Hi Andy I took the lcm out some green corrosion inside bottom corner on circuit board and a blown chip on the outer face of cover this slightly melted the cover
I did notice some wires in the nearby loom that were bare so I taped those up in case they had shorted it lol
I did wonder why no bulb out warning came up when the garage pointed out they were not working oh well
I also need to speak to James as I have had 2 LPG leaks both on that black box under the bonnet fingers crossed I have sorted it as I got 240 to a tank today woohoo

2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Epsom Green

Just an update I tried fitting a used light control module I bought from cws breakers in Glastonbury
It cured my number plate light problem but created a new one mileage tamper light on I took the car to my local specialist to try recoding the used lcm to my vin but no luck it is apparently only a one time write onto the chip with the vin number Aargh Big Cry Censored
So I need to buy a new lcm at around £300 plus a recoding session on auto logic
Banging Head
All this to get number plate lights and bulb checking working again
Thankyou Land rover for making a simple fix difficult
Rant over

Hope it keeps anybody else from making the same mistake

Cheers guys

Regards

Jon

Could you not take your old LCM and the salvaged one to an auto electricians and get then to swap the chips? think you said your LCM had corrosion so maybe you could switch the damaged ones and keep the coded one and have a working LCM without blowing 300 beer tokens? [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

I would Scarey but the chip that has blown in the lcm is the one which reports all the faults lol
Currently my ff thinks nothings wrong lol and gives check control ok when pressed lmao
So if I intrepid this right When these something wrong it, it thinks it ok
But when there's nothing wrong it, it lights up like casino in las Vegas true quality engineering thanks BMW/Land rover
Still I love it and I'm not changing it Thumbs Up

All fixed today new lcm fitted and I learnt how to use autologic as I managed to code it myself hehe
Also turned off the retract function on the steering wheel when you switch off hopefully that will reduce any wear on the steering column motors
I also read the fault codes and found the electric thermostat needs changing but apart from that all good just need to get that done and an oil and filter change done on the auto gearbox then hopefully that's it on the spending front

Cheers Guys

Jon
