Check engine light 2008 3.6 - no faults showing

Hi All,
2008 3.6 90k miles.
The check engine light came on close to home yesterday, parked up since. I’m just home from work and plugged in GAP Id tool, but there’s no faults. Well no engine faults, a few suspension and audio system, but nothing engine.
Started the car, engine light is still on, ran the faults check again and still nothing that might point to the issue.
Any ideas where to look, am I missing something?
Cheers
Leigh

There are some options in the advanced menu of the fault code section of the tool and AFAIK the 'pending fault' is off by default so maybe worth turning this on. Not saying it will identify the fault but worth having it. Failing that the team at GAP are very good at answering questions by email and respond quickly so that's worth a try. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Check the advanced menu for the faults and I think there is also an option to check all ECU's. Also look at the PDF manual you can download. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Used the laptop to check and update the Tool and now have a full list of ECU’s including the engine

There are 3 engine faults;
P0196-26 Engine oil temp sensor general signal failure
P140A-21 Exhaust Gss re circulation sensor C circuit low
P140E-21 Exhaust Gss re circulation position sensor C minimum/maximum stop performance - general signal failure

I expect the last are the issue and point 2 Needing new or blanking EGRs

Thumbs Up EIther of those solutions would work but you may need the EGR valves mapping out if it's an electrical fault. AFAIK you can do this via teh GAP IID tool ( for a fee) 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Thanks, blanking kit ordered.
I saw elsewhere, via a specialist a service to download to the GAP software to blank the EGR’s £180 inc vat, I’ll look into that, and check with GAP directly.
