Steering judder under moderate braking at high speed

Under hard braking or light braking or at low speed it's fine. The steering wheel rocks quite alarmingly side to side. Couple of months ago had new (Genuine) disks and Delphi pads fitted and it's also had the front upper and lower arms replaced ( Genuine ). Tried sequential heavy braking at speed to see if it was uneven disk friction but no change. I doubt it's a warped disk but it could be the disk to hub wasn't 100% cleaned but I'd have thought excessive disk runout would show up under all braking situations. Anyone got any ideas? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Spain 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Baltic Blue

Had a similar thing last year, it turned out to be ever so slightly worn drop links causing the judder. Changed and now perfect. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

Replaced both outer steering tie rods and the judder is much reduced but still noticeable. Car feels much nicer to drive though as the steering is more precise and it doesn't 'float' in a straight line at speed. I'd kind of got used to this as the nature of the car but glad it's now gone. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

My brakes gave me similar symptoms with a light shudder felt through the steering wheel and it was a rear brake caliper at fault. With new ones fitted everything was back to smooth braking. Don't know why it made the steering wheel shudder though! I can do high speed braking with confidence now.

I replaced the rear callipers last year and it started when the front disks and pads were replaced. I think I'm going to have to remove them and see if they are mated cleanly against the hubs 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Hi, when I was racing XJ-S's the discs used to warp so bad that the caliper pistons would knock back enough to require pumping the brake pedal at 145 mph to get the pads back against the disc. I tend to agree that the discs might not be hard against the hub face. Its worth putting a dial indicator to check the runout, and wobble the hubs about to check for bearing movement as well.
