4.4 TDV8 Catalytic Converter

Hi everyone, I could really use some help!

Took my 2011 4.4 TDV8 to a mechanic for some suspension work, and they said my catalytic converter had been cut open and welded, suspecting it had been gutted/tampered with.
I believe the cat is on the drivers side in front of the DPF.
I’m trying to look at photos of the cat online and the ones I found also had a weld line down the centre.
Does anyone know if this is how they come from the factory?

Thanks so much.

Yes, they have a thick weld line down the centre from factory iirc.

The ones on the 3.6 TDV8 do too. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Thanks everyone!
Turns out the cat was empty. I knew DPFs are sometimes gutted and put back but I didn’t think anyone would mess with the cat.
