As part of my LPG removal I bought a new air suspension compressor. It’s an Arnott one and comes in a complete assembly that you swap out.

I’ve fitted it and the car has built pressure and come up off it’s bump stops. I’ve now flashed the ECU to tell the ECU that it’s got an AMK type compressor fitted rather then the old Hitachi one that was there before.

I’m now getting an error message that I can’t get rid of which is putting the suspension into fault and causing it to lock out the controls.

Sounds like the front valve block isn't venting to gallery - has the pipe been pinched? if the valve block was disconnected it should throw a DTC or two.

The front valve block is right down at the bottom behind splash guards, I’ve not been near that one so am a bit confused by it.

It goes up quickly enough, just doesn’t lower.

Are the height sensors OK? - as in link rods connected and nothing stopping free movement?

Also, have you got the blue & black pipes in the correct positions on the reservoir block?

The pressure relief valve on the bottom of the compressor needed a love tap from a 15mm spanner

Odd how it was venting the rears and not the front though!

Indeed. Very strange.

When I went back to the car, I depressurised the system with the IID tool and cracked the unions on the pipe until I found where the air stopped and then gave that a nudge. It then spat some dust out and the car depressurised no problem.

Got a feeling the desiccant in the driers on the compressor needs replacing so I’ll do that whilst it’s in bits.

A few years ago i had a L319 that had dessicant in the front valve block, nowhere else, it caused all kind of issues - of course, no helpful DTC's were set... I tried cleaning the block (easy enough to open up) but the bore was scored so it was never working 100% after that. Out of warranty so the customer had to stump up for a new valve block & filter/drier, we recommended a new airline but I think the labour cost to change killed that idea!
