airco when started, driving only hot air

As above. Comming back from Amsterdam airco stopped working, although pump was turning.
Stopped for petrol. Drove away, airco worked for 3 minutes or so, then only warm outside air.

Regassed when arrived home, no leaks, good pressure 10.7. Same problem.
Back to specialist, he can not enter the heat/airco system with his pc.
Tried hard reset, to no avail

If airco works, left side has colder air as right side...

They really did their best checked what was possible and are at the end of their wits.

Any of you educated people has an educated guess?

Thanks Dr. Rob, in fact it's a 4.4 petrol AJV8. We will look into this valve failure.
Did not show up on my GAP tool.

Not sure if it applies to a petrol one. Only know it’s common on the 4.4 tdv8 Thumbs Up Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Re: airco when started, driving only hot air

Does the air conditioning no longer work at all? Does heating work properly? There's not too much which would cause the issues other than:
1. Cabin temperature sensor
2. Blockage in the A/C system
3. A/C compression RCV valve is stuck or the clutch isn't engaging - a twin tester should be able to tell you if there's too much or too little pressure on either side of the system and IID has an option to show compressor clutch.

As always, I would also try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes first. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Thanks Gary,

Airco works when engine is started and stops after a few miles driving.
When working left side colder as right side. Heather works
hard reset done,
clutch is engaging, hear it engaging when airco is switched on
cabin temp sensor is ok (according to specialist)

do you know where to find this option on IID?
pressure on high side is 10.7 (low side don't know)

blockage would mean pressure on high side would rise when airco is on??? doesn't it?

In the IID tool go to live values and then the full list. You can view the evaporator temperature, clutch status, pressure, cabin temperature.

Trigger these on a drive and see if anything doesn't look right. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

to no avail. On my IID in the live values these items are not available in the complete list, or I am to dummmm to find them.
Next to that most of the temp. measurements in live values give a N/A
While doing this it's (35 ° here) the airco was working fine, went for a ride and it stopped working....? really weird

Couple of things to check, is the aircon dripping from under the car, if not the drain could be blocked and the condensate is backing up and freezing so stopping air getting through...

Also, is cabin filter clean and not blocked...? Pete
