Not impressed !!!

Coming home from work tonight and some scroat in a council wagon two cars in front decides to 'go for max' down one of the hills on the route ! Shame he'd just been carrying road chippings and the debris /chippings flew off and hit his four rear tandem wheels and sent it out like a shot blaster ! I was two cars behind with a work collegue in front and I dread to think about the damage to his vehicle.I was approx 40-60 yards behind and he has destroyed :-
Roof paint
Front windscreen
2 x side mirrors
Bonnet totally peppered
2 X leading edges of front wings peppered
2 x headlights
2x indicators
2 x front fog lights
1 x front grille
1 x front bumper
1 x front number plate !
Informed the police and gave them the vehicle details and reg number and explained that whilst waiting in traffic (I overtook him as I didn't want to follow him for 20+ miles home !)he would always wait 30+ yards behind me as he knew what he had done !
Anyway the Police are going to persue him for an insecure load and are classing it as a road traffic accident. I have also notified my insurers and they are sending an assessor around tomorrow ! All in all with the non starting issue and now this I'm having a genrally c Censored p week Sad
Oh... the wagon was a council Highways one so I pointed out also to the Police - have a look at his tacho for around 1700hrs and you will see what speed he was doing - definately not 55mph ! Shocked

I had a similar incident 20 years ago and lost out due to not knowing about getting details etc...this time I was fully prepared (didn't have a pen in the car so had to memorise the number plate all the way home !) Rolling Eyes

If you have the phone/voice recognition you can hold down the voice button and speak "reccord note". V useful feature for when ideas come to you in the car!

Fortunately all vehicles with the exception of the post office and HM forces have to have a tacho so I'm ok on that score Very Happy
There were 3 other vehicles damaged as well as mine from where I work and my insurance company told me today another driver followed him back to the depot and had a go at him ! Mr. Green As a consequence the council and their insurance company were well in the picture !! Very Happy
Hopefully the insurance place will do a good job - I will have to inform them that there is more than one Land Rover Java Black ! - not many people know that Wink When I had a rear door on my Defender sprayed they had to phone Land Rover with the chassis number to get the exact match - they originally thought Java Black was Java Black ! Cool

Need to be a bit careful with that .....

Unless you can prove the video is legit and unedited, it is merely circumstancial unless the recording system is evidentiary and registered as such.

Dash cam's, whilst not evidenciary, are still a good thing to have. I use one a lot. Amazing how interested the police get when you tell them about it. A picture is still worth a thousand words. Thumbs Up

you would have to be pretty clever to edit a video and if the 'case' got serious i'm sure the video forensics could determine tampering..
