I don’t believe reviews have even taken place.

I suppose if they have full order books for 2 years and no parts,
They are in a better place than some 😂

For loyal customers, for sure. For conquest, it only takes another manufacturer to start getting in a better place and it causes lost customers.

Funny you should say that -
I’ve just sold our Taycan Cross Tourismo this morning, which is being picked up next Friday and now looking at the new shape X5 PHEV.

If I could get an idea of when our delivery of the RR PHEV (don’t even know what year at the moment 😂 and placed deposit last October) we could progress-
But, alas it looks like the wife will be driving a van for a while -
Unless we get the X5 😂😂😂😂

I’ve found a stock one - spec heavy but ok

With the all important tow bar for horse box 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Which surprisingly she now likes - now I’ve mentioned a van…..😂👍

I’m in the same boat on the 992. Been offered a June build slot but have then been told the 992.2 is due next year…

@7CBD

Why are you getting rid of the Porsche? Was it any good? Am thinking of getting one.

I'm actually off to order a new Porsche 992 tomorrow morning.

I've been told that I can have a Carrera 4 GTS Convertible quickest, as soon as late this year / early next. However, I don't like the black element styling and firmer ride of the 4 GTS, so I'm going to wait for a 992 Carrera 4S Cabriolet.

I've been told I can pay a deposit for the latter, but Porsche are not building them at the moment. I was told I'd be very lucky to see a Carrera 4S this year, and more likely, it'll be a Generation 2 model delivered in 12-18 months!

Well, by the time I got home to discuss then X5 PHEV with “the boss” they had called to say it had been sold 🤦🏻‍♂️😂
It was brand new sat in dealer stock at rrp - I knew I should of deposited the bloody thing !
Phoned local BMW dealer and they are looking @ Sept - so that’s a no no.

As for waiting 12/18 months for a new car ie new 992. Censored that, life’s too short to wait that long for a car -
I could have had another 2 different ones by then….(says the man who’s deposited a Range Rover without knowing what year he will get it😂😂😂)

Re the Taycan 4S Cross tourismo;
I had ordered the turbo last year, with no confirmed build date. Looking around in Nov and found a 3k mile demo
Lovely looking thing and after test driving the 4S at our time of ordering the turbo - convinced myself that the performance was more than enough.
It got delivered with no charge cable for our home charger - that Censored me off to start with but new toy to play with and with an Amazon delivery the next day and we were all sorted 👍
We didn’t have a particularly cold winter last year, plus we were away for nearly a month of it - the real range on the car is crap 190/200 miles if you want the bloody heater and steering wheel on in the depths of winter
The mirrors don’t auto defrost and never really clear properly- think Astavan in 1995 😂
Almost every cold morning there was a different dashboard fault,
Almost to where my wife was guessing which one.
The Porsche matrix lights are really poor compared the the Merc we had before- which was a bit of a disappointment as I had read they were brilliant. The camera system is set too low and you can’t see Censored all within 2 miles of driving in winter as they just get covered in road grime. Not ideal in winter!
The full lock tyre scrub is really really pronounced because of the size of the bloody things🤦🏻‍♂️ Final straw for me was Monday when picking up wheel refurb after leaving it with them whilst we went away for the weekend- the thing was dead/nothing, wouldn’t unlock, lights, mirrors nothing. Rang Porsche assist and 30 minutes later AA man got into the car by forcing the spare key and found the 12v battery flat - no control circuit to anything, he boosted it back up and when I asked him if he had been out to many Taycans he laughed and told me they kept him busy 😂😂

Plus points they look nice and are very Porsche to look at and go like the proverbial scalded cat !

But, £110k for a car that doesn’t function properly as a winter car, has a very un user friendly driving interface and leaves me stranded. I might as well have another LR product 😍😍

But, will not touch another Taycan - it’s sold and being picked up next Friday

YIKES!!!!! That's a real eye opener.

Thanks 7 CDB for sharing that insight into the world of electric cars, and not from a budget volume manufacturer either, but from a premium brand.

Seems as I suspected, that we're still along way from reliable, full electric vehicles.

You're absolutely right 7CDB that the 992 is a long way off at 12-18 months, but I don't really want it for at least 12 months, so I'm sort of planning ahead by ordering now.

No worries, it’s an honest appraisal after 2 fully electric cars now - we won’t be having another for a good few years yet - the real world range, charging structure and manufacture range promises are way out ! Ignore the electric Taycan/Tesla fan boys they are a strange bunch and their cars are the best* to them 😂😂

The 992 is an amazing bit of kit - I had a brand new 992S cab on demo and it was sublime and a lot quicker than the figures say aren’t they! I was almost there and my lad loved it -
Went sensible with the Taycan 🤦🏻‍♂️ That was a bolloc dropped as my non car wife was even on board 😂😂 but I had just got rid of the AM V8T so was being good 😂😂
If the timeframe works for you then that’s something to really look forward to👍

My ideal “real world” garage is a new FFRR and a 911T cab
