Making my car feel old is the reason I’m not going to look at an L460! From what I’ve seen, I’m either going to want to change or I won’t like mine as much anymore.

Plan is to hold onto this car for another 18 months or so, then hopefully I won’t need to regularly transport 5 people, so no need for a family truck. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Has anyone bottomed the position on the automatic door closing function - one of the videos might have been Harry’s garage showed a feature with him pressing the brake pedal with drivers door open and it closed automatically

Asked about that at the dealer but none of the folk there knew anything about it - is it a special feature on certain higher spec models or maybe a feature not on the pre- production models that the dealers have in the dealership to show to customers before they get their proper demonstrators in Feb/March

The release of this feature is delayed and not currently available to order due to challenges during testing that they’re trying to iron out. Personally I feel this technology is way too new for mass production and I think the delay is a blessing in disguise.

We went to the display evening in Peterborough last evening.
One of the drivers from the factory called Ben was extremely helpful in answering the many questions I asked.
I found our existing autobiography has a rather small rear load space for our two German Shepherds. This is due to the large thick bulkhead behind the executive rear seats.
If the car is specified without those executive seats there is a lot more space for our dogs as the bulkhead is absent.

Annoyingly because I have one of the first orders in the country (1000 cars being made)

They are a fixed specification, I can’t add a factory towbar for £1095 therefore I have to pay near £2500 at the dealer 🙄

There doesn’t seem to be a way around this 19 L405 4.4 AB + Disco3 pick up + 800BHP Rothmans 911

Gunning: can you get your dealer to swap your build slot with a customer who is on the list to get an early car that is not a 'First Edition' and which could be adapted to take a towbar? Only Range Rovers since 1988

The build slot for anything afterwards could be up to 12/18 months according to my dealer so I’d be waiting a lot longer 19 L405 4.4 AB + Disco3 pick up + 800BHP Rothmans 911

Presumably your quotation of 12/18 months is for petrol/diesel vehicles as when I ordered a hybrid on Monday evening I was told it is likely to be October delivery

Gunning: Order a second RR to your spec and trade when it arrives after 6-12 months. I doubt you will lose much on your first. MY23 D350 HSE

The First Edition that was on the Reveal tour had the Vegan cloth interior and looked terrible. Why would you spend £130K and not have leather.

Anyway, cows are vegans, so if you use their leather its like a net zero situation! Discovery 4 HSE

Finally it was our turn to take a look.

Many points have already been mentioned by others.

The tail gate lifts higher , so the sharp corners are now above my 6’2” head hieght .

Euro 7 diesel engine so that allows you in everywhere. ( for the moment) .

The map and electronics look as if they have really had some thought applied and fast.

The LWB gives the dog its own vents , good news. No space for a spare tyre, really bad news as I have had about two punctures a year for the past 4 years..

All together a lovely car….. the LWB is great, but

Two guys from Range Rover , knew stuff the dealers knew zip. The dealers just can’t be bothered , I can afford to wait certainly one year , due to covid slow downs I haven’t done the mileage. I’ll be aiming at 2024 delivery, ordering next year, by then I’ll take a real long hard look at what else is available. £125,000 is a huge amount of money to have standing on my drive….. actually completely bonkers & has to make me think more than once, certainly if the sales people are not willing to do a bit of bazil fawlty style fawning… it will be my fourth RR after my Jaguar XJ6 & they don’t even try … if they have already allocated their 22 cars to their better customers I guess they can afford to rest on their laurels. Not for the first time , I have walked in with the cash available and walked out with it unspent. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc
