Can you catch it with a fingernail/ has it gone through either the lacquer or the paint? If not it could potentially machine polish out.

Think it will catch with finger nail. Noticed it because I had used some white polish on the door and it dried in the scratch. It would show less if I actually got the white polish out. The colour is Luxor,, a gold/silver colour. Will have another look tomorrow. Many thanks. 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.

Coloured wax will work - wipe the scratch with petrol to remove any existing wax, then polish with coloured wax - this will fill the scratch and it will be invisible - I caught a barbed wire fence several years ago with a dark Navy Blue Discovery - right through to the white primer - black coloured wax cured it immediately 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17 |

Hi Vogue. Your coloured wax idea sounds good. Can you please tell me what you bought, and where. Many thanks. 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.

Hi Rob, it was Turtlewax Colour Magic Plus - it comes with a coloured crayon as well if needed to fill the scratch if it’s very deep - bought from Halfords and also off eBay.

On my wife’s dark blue SAAB I have used WD40. I actually found in a which review of scratch removers. With nothing to loose I gave it a go and it works alright. As with anything you would have to apply periodically. So when it’s cleaned and polished it he scratches get treated. Comes up really well. visiting from www.rrsport.co.uk |
