A common issue, the pins holding in the brake pads were seized in place.

One side came out fine, the other was solid. After repeated blows with a punch and club hammer, the pin ended up bent.

I had to use a Dremel to cut the pins in half and drift the halves out individually.

Yes I feel your pain, I was there myself earlier in the year. An air chisel with a pointed tip also works if you have one, the number of impacts per minute/second is unmatched and felt far kinda to the caliper body than hammer and punch blows

Bloody daft design, and yes the pins were made of chocolate  2011 Vogue SE Tdv8 FFRR

A common problem, I always take the pads out, clean it all up and regrease the pins during routine servicing, keeps them free...  Pete

Yeah, stupid design!

Needs a 4lb lump hammer and they surrender readily with a few reasonable taps. No need to batter the hell out of anything, as happens with a lesser tool. Don't ask me how I know this!
