OMG I'd forgotten what that was like £100+ per week in fuel, I spend less than that a year for electricity in the car now .

Hilarious story in the Daily mail about 20 motorists following a 'Mortar Tanker' thinking it was going to a petrol station Not much hope left for the human race

Deleted my original post. On reflection I realised that it wasn't helpful. My apologies.

Well done Stan - sanitised and sane. It seems the petrol shortage still exists in London and some of the South but for us boys up here in the North it seems to be largely over. Geoff |

Sorts out those that really need it vs those that can wait I suppose.... a delicate line between profiteering in a time of 'crisis' vs charging for convenience such as motorway service station prices being higher than supermarkets.

Back to normal here in south Derbyshire today. My local to site garage on the A38 was operating all pumps with no queues, even managed to fill up a 5 gal diesel tub for the digger. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Must admit, not much to really shout about around Bristol way. Though I know the bunkering site at avonmouth truck stop has been empty for a few days and Swindon truck stop has limited it's filling to 150 litres. Sorry to on anyone's shoes here who are suffering but I have a great boss who lets me use the fuel card to fill up my fatty. I ask what's the price for the day then I just deduct 20% from the fill then pay him straight back. If only more bosses were more like that towards their employees, they'd get the fuel even cheaper then more they use. |

Mines the same mate. He's told all the staff they can fill up on the fuel cards as long as he gets the receipts but there's a catch. Those who have petrol cars can't fill up so he said anyone who fills up with diesel has too go n collect said members of staff. Not a bad deal considering your getting a tank of diesel for free |

I wonder how many more companies are allowing their employees to use fuel cards? I wouldn't say it's anything illegal, far from it, that's exactly what they are, fuel cards. Trouble is, the likes of ukfuels and keyfuels, they hit you with a 25% surcharge if you fill with petrol, so no wonder your boss said no to petrol owners filling up. |
