L322 tdv8 3.6 in fuel tank test 2010 version

Hi any techs out there which could advise would be great. I wish to test in tank fuel pump. First question is it doesn't seem to make any noise at all . This is with engine in start mode but not running. I have lifted rear carpet and removed connector to see if power is there big white and blue being power and big black being ground. But nothing. The fuse in engine bay is 25 amp and has supply to it. I will hot wire removed relay but just want to know if thus pump should run at ignition on stage or is it activated on crank over.

The pump should run when the ignition is turned on but only long enough to prime the line/build up pressure.
All modern cars need to see the engine turning over to keep the pump running, it's a safety thing

I've made a schrader valve 1 bar test rig up to see what the low pressure is which I believe is .5 bar or 7psi.

They are pretty quiet
My first test would be to disconnect the supply pipe to the filter v easy no tools then put the pipe in a bottle and turn the ignition on. Should get a good stream of diesel

Update

OK tested pump and pump is working. Dissconnected pipe from pump to filter housing and .5bar at filter end with good flow. Took pipe of outlet side of filter and filter outlet also good showing .5bar however small length of pipe going from schrader test point to high pressure pump has no pressure. Getting dark now so will have to continue tomorrow.
