Handling different L322 2010 and 2012

Hi,

I have bought a 2010 FFRR 5.0 Supercharged.
Compared to another L322 2021 Westminster, I find mine takes more "roll" in the roundabouts and turns.

Are there any differences between the 5.0 sc from 2010 and from 2012? Both L322.

Thanks.

I think that the lock suspension should be the same, maybe someone has tweaked the ride height with an iid tool on the one that handles better, dropping it 15mm all round worked for me, feels much more planted tbh.

Agree with dingg there is no mechanical difference to my knowledge. But when I got mine the height was too high and I recalibrated it. Further more tyre sizes, tyre makes and wheels can make a huge difference in handling.

Oh and the leather is softer in your 5.0SC and the Westminster is much slower :p

Indeed.

I did not take the Westminster because there was an engine noise.
When LR opened it they said the engine was blown and it was a 22 Keuros bill.

Much slower then.

So you think I should go to LR and have the height recalibrated?

Buy an iid tool, it'll pay for itself in no time, and you might need diagnostics a lot Laughing

You could do it yourself with a gap iid tool or many other obd tools. It’s pretty straightforward where you measure from the centre of the wheel to the arch and adjust the car with the computer to the desired height. Mine was stupid high, I guess some people like that.

Do they both have the variable damping/active suspension? 5.0 S/C Autobiography - now gone to pastures new....

What is the normal height? (between the center of the wheel and the arch I supppose)

I should just check that before anything.

Stan. What is motorway height? Never seen that on my L322.

My Mercedes GLS63 had that, it would drop down all the way when going fast. At like 155mph it was so low that it was like an estate car.

But never experienced that on my L322 2010+ MY.

Also I’m pretty certain, but it has been a while since I’ve done this, that you can’t set the height for each scenario on a post 2010 model or one with dynamic suspension.

When it says the bottom of the wing what are we talking about here? To the top of the wheel arch or inside the wheel arch where the suspension is?

Over a certain speed the suspension lowered automatically. With the earlier cars, my TD6 had it, it was at 65mph. Later ones the speed for activating it was increased to, I believe 100mph. Don't know if it continued through all the L322 years.

On the TD6 there was an indicator on the console which showed what state the suspension was in.

Nothing on my TDv8. John
