United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue

Not the start you were hoping for but hopefully you’ll hear something next week.

It’s nice to be kept in the loop but there’s also no point them phoning when they’ve got no news I guess.

Apparently good things come to those who wait Wink

Maybe be it is not a simple fix but it was showing the missfires which we already knew about. I gave a list of issues and symptoms bit like a Doctors note pad clearer writing though 🤣

I wanted them to test it from a freezing cold start up as thats when it is at its worse. If it is just missfires then although £88 to be told what we knew is not a lot its still issues that the ODB told me. Anyway as you say. Lets wait and see. Maybe they are open today so might hear something from them. Current Cars

In fairness to the Garage even though you have told them what you know they will still need to go through things, though acknowledging what you already told them perhaps they could have communicated it to you differently.
lets hope they earn there money and find the rout cause of the misfire and put it right for you.

look forward to the next update i really hope it is positive Thumbs Up 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current

Hi Jay

Most definitely mate. Nothing worse yet han a non expert telling an expert whats what. Just thought with more context to the issues they would have a clearer indication where to attack. Like I have just replaced

Whole exhaust system and battery for example so wouldbe disappointed if they said needs new xyz. But yes they have all the time in there world I am hardly going tp drive anywhere in the near future.

I think it was the ‘car is missfiring’ which we already knew. I was hoping maybe for a little bit moreor something additional to that.

I will update once I have an update 😀 Current Cars

Morning all

No update. I have not heard from the garage since Thursday night. I have not had a call to say this or that is wrong with it or they don't know or if they are even working on it. I have not called them either as I don't wish to be one of those moany customers. Might seem like I am but honestly, I am not so I let people do their work.....

However, to not get a call from them since Thursday evening is not exactly great customer care. I was expecting more considering they came highly recommended and were or are indeed a specialist. Surely they can track down the faults and then advise on parts needed etc.....

I will give them until 2pm today then I will call them. Current Cars

Hi Ash, like you I don't tend to want to keep pestering the garage whilst they have my car. The last time it was in the garage they had it for 8 weeks and in that time I called them twice for updates. It's a case of trusting that they are getting on with the fault finding/rectification and may be waiting for parts. If it's a busy garage they might not have the time to call all the customers on a regular basis. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

8 WEEKS!!!! Haha you have patience although saying that I had one in and out mainly in for 9 months but that was a near on rebuild. Like I said I am in no rush just would be nice to know if any progress or if parts are being bought etc.

I trust they are working on it and have my best interests at heart ao I am not going to rush them. They will call if there is news. Who wants a car sitting around the place. Saying that some garages forget they parked them up in the roadside and maybe they are waiting for me to call. I will esve it till this afternoon Current Cars

It was having a fair bit of problem solving and work done and with the restrictions I wasn't really using it so that probably helped my anxiety. I have in the past though been pacing by the phone waiting for it to ring as I generally don't like my cars being away from me Rolling with laughter 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

in between the devil and the deep blue

you call too often they get fed up with you and palm you off!!
you dont call often enough and the car gets left and other jobs take priority!!

fact is they need to commit a couple of hours of some ones time to troubleshoot then report back to you the findings....not hard really personally i would be chewing the carpet with frustration!! 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current

I think if work is done on it and no progress or its proving to be a pig then a call at end of the day wont hurt. Or if timescales are agreed like they will update me every 72 hpurs or something. I thought it would be a plug in confirm, parts ordered then installed, invoice, pay and drive off. I am in no rush though.

I dont want to be hit with a £50 hour labour charge x8 hours a day x7 days = That would not be good Current Cars

I guess the other way to look at it is if they read the codes, order a part and fit it to find it doesn't work and something else was masking the fault, it would be an unnecessary expense too.

If you've told them about all the troubleshooting you've done, making sure they get it right is likely to take longer.

Parts roulette when paying for the parts and labour to change them on the off chance that they solve the problem wouldn't be fun.

Fingers crossed you'll hear something productive soon.
