Sill repair

Please feel the pain!
Opened up a can of worms here but got to be done , on a fabrication scale to 10 about 9!
Had to start this , although the middle of the sill is structurely sound the worst is where the wheel arch meets the sill , been done before as well , judging by the cataloy .

Passenger rear , made up jacking plate , but not the best , worst to do is inner wheel arch to sill.

With all respect, it is Scottish! That means far more salt etc on the road!

Wouldn’t bank on it , I’ve only had the car 3 full years , so not sure if it’s history . I have see that the front subframe Has been patched in the past 4 yrs ago.

Moving on a bit , the nearside is nearing completion , so I need a bracket .
Looking for a front bracket that secured the mud flap and lower part of the front wing in front of the sill. If any one is breaking a Vogue 2004 year. Or if anyone has access to a parts list that can identify this. I reckon if Land Rover has it , it would be pricey.

The first photos are on their sides , but you can see the air vents above it if is vertical . Help appreciated, In the middle of sill restorations ....still.

Its part of the mudflap kit... Maybe Britpart could supply them?

Cheers Many Thanks .Will try!

To avoid another reply, Britpart sell sets of these for around £90, and fleeBay at £60. The flaps I have are odd in that I removed the side steps over a year ago , an intergal fit with them , by design and really don’t look right for the job now . I know it’s picky but can I justify that for looks alone at £30 .

I am going to try the dealer for the bracket on its own.

So now my sill repair and wheel arch is back to a near normality with the original design, with a few mods.
I also injected waxoyl into the holes provided and replaced the grommets.

Now thhere were two holes to the rear of the arch that I injected , and be known to me the piping found a cavity up to the boot area.
I now have a blank screen , which I think is related to this , the area below the modules are laced with waxoyl and so I m thinking I may have contaminated them.
I will update , dammit!

i have been in the body shop nearly all my working life sad i no . years ago you wear welding cars every week to get them through mots apart from one was the vw . i have used a lot off stuff to keep rust at bay and after many fails found one that works . epoxy resin . and as stated waxoil the black is better under side and wear you will see it use clear . and the upol raptor coat is very good very strong and covers well instead of schutz which peels off after a period of time . paint the hole underside with epoxy resin not a very nice job but no more rust or welding as water can not get past it . best to do this in the summer time when it is a bit warmer .

Yes, not for the faint hearted looking at Alfapats work. Lukcily the 'inner' sill still appears intact and the jacking point is solid...for now.. Big Cry
