My guess would be a minor leak started it off, the car drops and a new part of the wheel height sensors comes into play, this is probably dirty so there is little electrical imput to the suspension ECU, the fatty thinks it is constantly too low so pumps up, sorry to say but it is usually the bags that burst, around the fold of the air bag...

Agree, most likely an air spring (typically one of the front ones) has sprung a leak/hole around the fold. Several of us have had that lately around the 8-10 year old mark...

also check the orientation of the height sensors, if it has over extended itself its possible one has become inverted the wrong way round and is giving a spurious reading.

dont have a pic of normal sorry but they should be pointing the same way if that makes sense. A diagnostic tool should be able to tell if there is a discrepancy in the readings and one of the sensors is duff tho.

All air suspension cars and Fatties have height sensors, it has nothing to do with VDS, that controls damping not ride height...! Pete

Sorry, not up on the controls of the later cars... maybe ask the dealer, they can tell from your VIN... Pete

If you have wires going into the top of the strut then you have Adaptive Dynamics (VDS) There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
