New toy for the next week

Friday was a good day for me - I got to lock up my P38 for a few weeks as I took delivery of this beauty to test:

It's a 3.0 SDV6 Vogue, fairly base-spec but still a lovely place to be. It's a JLR press car so has a few nice little extras in there. So far, so good, I've done about 300 miles in it since Friday and it's been wonderful. I really don't want to have to give it back at the end of the week - I better get hunting under the sofa for some loose change... Laughing

It's ok, people are more than welcome to come over and offer up their gardening and landscaping services while I'm far too busy wafting about in the L405. Laughing

It's a lovely place to be and many many moons ahead of my trusty P38, however, the one thing that worried me is all the screens replacing traditional dials and - guess what - they all failed the other day...

All working fine now though, but it really isn't selling me the idea that more screens and fewer dials are better!

I couldn't agree more. It's been good fun messing about with everything in this L405, but my main worry is what happens when one is 10 years old and well out of warranty and one of the screens breaks. I dread to think what the replacement parts and labour cost will be. You'd be mad to buy one out of warranty!

IT goes back to JLR tomorrow to be replaced by a similarly priced Jaguar iPace for another week and I must admit, as much as I don't like the overuse of touchscreens, I will genuinely miss this one more than most!

Now its time put pen to paper!
