any advice when upgrading from the td6 to tdv8 , think turbo's is my only real concern but is there anything else ??

Pull the engine cover off and check that the drivers side inlet manifold hasn’t been “repaired”

Always worth a scan through the wiki - the big issues have usually been written up. There's a good buyers guide in there too - though not engine specific.

Turbos can be an issue, but AFAIK there are no early warning signs, so not much you can do other than budget for it & hope for the best.
