I have uploaded a video of the play. I'm assuming this isn't normal.

I have just been told that the coupler on mine has gone and that it had play where you are showing. I have also been told that I cant just detach the snout/nose to repair. You appear to need to take the whole supercharger off which sounds a big job.

Yesterday I bought a bearing kit, solid isolator and 10% smaller pulley from Powerhouse-uk's ebay shop. I'm hoping to pull the supercharger off next week and do the work. |

My pulley play is similar to the one in the video above and it's not normal according to the guy that took my supercharger out in less than 30 mins today. I also need a new throttle housing gasket. I noticed inside the supercharger that the rotors are slightly marked. So a service seems a definite as soon as any sound is heard. My noise was on startup and wasn't regular. So any noise from below the pulley get it checked straight away it's probably the couplar. I will update you when my charger is serviced.

I am getting mine picked up by Powerhouse UK Chesterfield on Monday so will soon have her back together. Checked the hoses under the supercharger and all seems well thankfully although throttle body gasket needs replacing. Range Rover Vogue SE 2007 L322 4.2 Supercharged 121k. I'm changing the bearings myself as I have a press. I bought a kit containing the snout bearings, rear roller bearings, oil and a solid coupler from Powerhouse UK and it was around £170. Ive got it all apart now - you need a press to DIY - and the bearings were all fine, just the coupler that was knackered. |
