Rubber Mats

Well now I've got one I need some rubber mats particularly for the front - the LR set is a bit pricey are there any good alternatives? Geoff

Personally I am not keen on rubber mats - I have the RR deep pile carpet mats and on top of these a cheep pair of carpet mats from home bargains - £3.99 for a set of 4 rubber backed carpet mats is bonkers - I use them, beat them out and buy a new set every 6-12 months.

The car is far less dusty inside than when I used rubber mats as the carpet holds ths dust - previously with rubber mats the dust blew round the interior of the car. I also live in an extremely rural property and use the vehicle in the winter for shooting and surprisingly mud is not an issue - it dries quickly with the air con and is quickly shaken or beaten off.

The carpet also makes a far nicer environment to be sat in 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I get in and out a lot with muddy wet feet - mountain biking - rubber mats over carpet or even cheap carpet over good carpet sounds like a good option. Geoff

I agree carpet mats look better so I tend to use these in decent weather and rubber in the winter or during crap weather. OEM rubber mats aren't cheap, but they fit properlyand have a raised ridge all round which is useful in snowy weather for containing the melted snow off your footwear rather than soaking in to the carpet. I guess they're a bit like mudflaps...don't look fantastic but serve a purpose.

I, like Vogue, use my car for dogs/shooting/fishing too and use rubber mats but carpet mats sound a good idea....

Went on Home Bargains can't find any "Carpet Mats"though. All LR cars from 1984

Got the BRITPART mats today - excellent - much better than even OEM particularly on the drivers side where they protect right under the pedals taking in the "step"in the floorpan. Well pleased Very Happy Geoff

Damn !...wish I'd have known about these before I bought the OEM mats, definately a design fault where all the crap collects between the carpet and rubber mat beneath pedals Big Cry [/s]
