Hi, folks, my car no longer responds when I press the steering wheel button for voice commands. It used to beep and show listening on the display, all I get now is it trying to dial numbers on the phone?
My sat nav unit stopped working ages, ago, Making graunching noises, does the voice command somehow rely on a functioning sat nav unit in the boot? Thanks in advance for your advice.  2008 L322 Vogue 3.6 TDV8 in Java Black with parchment and Navy interior. 125000mls.

never used it, I can't get it to respond to anything at the best of times. dont think ive pressed the button in years. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

it's definitely related to the satnavunit in the boot.i bought a 2018 update dvd from (no advertising)
since then the voice control and TMC is no longer working
