I don't know about the 'hot on max' aspect, but I would check the final stage resistor. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

Ok thanks, let me know how you get on with the face plate swap. Not sure about the FSR , I thought this controlled fan speed? |

When my 2004 4.4 ceased to heat I had the FSR changed and it worked again, beyond that my technical knowledge is inadequate I'm afraid. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

Has anyone else had this problem and managed to solve it? I’ve changed the valve on the passenger side wing and made no difference, also the final stage resistor. The heater works as it should for a couple of miles after cold start up then it just goes colder unless you put the temperature setting on max then it’s like being in an oven. I thought it could be air locked but if it was surely it wouldn’t work at all. The weather is cold at the min and this is really bugging me , on the plus side when summer comes around the air con works a treat. |

I've had a no heat problem for three years. Last week I found out I didn't have a heater problem, I had a user error problem.

Coming home I thought I try something. I turned off the air-conditioning and got an improvement in heating.

Hmmm.
I don't know if there is any real monitoring of the auxiliary cooling pump but T4 did show the pump as being off and shortly after, as the engine warmed up, it indicated the pump was on. However, this may only indicate power is applied to the pump. Ron B. It was cold (23 deg C/73 F) and wet today so I thought I'd try the heating again..

My heater works as it should until the engine is up to full running temp. I changed both the circulation pump and heater valves just to be sure....unlike others its my drivers side that is permanantly hot hot hot. Passenger side adjusts as it should. Drivers side burning hot. |
