Not sure if it's possible to do a hard reset on the ffrr.

Did it a few times when I had my d3, if it is possible then is the process the same as the disco? Remember:- amateurs built the ark

If you mean get all ECUs to reset to their current programming, then the following worked for me.
With the ignition OFF!

1. disconnect both battery leads, negative first - wait 10 mins;
2. touch the + and - leads together for 10 seconds. wait 10 mins;
3. reconnect leads, negative last - wait 10 mins.

4. all ECUs should have reset and be ready to go.

No doubt there is a JLR approved procedure somewhere but it cleared an obscure anomaly on mine.

Note: this is not the same as resetting to factory defaults, which requires IID tool or similar. Forty years of progress. 1972-2012

Just wondered on the year as the earlier ones up to 05, you have to wait for the satnav light to go off before disconnecting the battery or it can die. I always did this but the other day i thought i wouldn't bother as it was probably just a precaution - my satnav died but luckily after a lot of messing about it came back to life.
