When my 2004 car's battery was very flat the key refused to turn. Maybe the effort of powering yours up and starting it was enough to get it back down to the level where this happens. Maybe get the battery tested and if necessary replaced. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

I’m hoping it’s either something minor or the drilling of a hole will sort it. Should find out tomorrow then I’ll post the findings. |

Had this happen to me about 12 months ago. The AA were convinced it was the battery, but on further inspection it turned out to be a dodgy ignition barrel. The technician did say that the he could still get the key to turn by gently pushing it in further, but we changed the barrel anyway. Wasn't too expensive as I seem to recall and no issues since. Life is what happens while youre making other plans. |

Had a slight update on the car Saturday. Car is starting fine today although nothing has been changed. They’re keeping it until the problem comes back so they can have another look. |

Garage have been on to say it’s now working fine. They’ve traced a fault to the airbag power supply and suspect that could be the issue. That’s fixed now but they’ve also warned me that if it is the column that needs replacing then it’s £4,500 for the part.
