Need a 4.4 TDV8 FBH guru

Hi folks,

Trying to get my FBH working and getting nowhere fast!
Firstly where the bloomin heck is it?
Found the fob module and antenna, don't think they are pairing properly.
Secondly, tried my IID to test it, so turn off AC on the car, run the prep routine, all good, run the prime routine E7 fail, run the heat routine E7 fail.

Where am I going wrong?

Cheers

Yes sir, on a cold day it can scare the hell out of you when you see smoke coming out the side of the car. 2015 4.4 AB

Well that would explain why I can't find it then.

I wonder if the numpty body repairers who had it a couple of weeks ago to replace that wing disconnected it and not reconnected it then?

Already found my electric fan disconnected Sad Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

As Dolph says, it's behind the nearside wheel arch, under the battery.

If my memory serves, it will come on automatically when the outside temp drops to around 5 to 8 degrees C.

There is a routine to pair the remote with the receiver, in fact, there's another active thread ongoing for FBH. Search the forum.

Remove batteries from remote for 30s. Replace batteries. Pull fuse 16 in the boot. Hold off down on the remote. Push fuse in while continuing to hold off on the renotr. Wait for remote to flash. Job done. Did it last nihht on mine Smile Land Rover Addict

Not connecting the fan is unbelievable, a friend of mine with a 2 year old merc had a similar problem when a merc main dealer forgot to reconnect the fan , my friend has no mechanical knowledge or common sense and kept driving it on a hot day a blew the head gasket, i had a quick look and the fan connector was lying loose !!! It might be worth a check to see if its all connected up as it should be. Did you try running it from the display screen ? 2015 4.4 AB

No, only tried running it from my IID tool

Thanks DMRR, tried pulling the power from the unit and keeping the off button pressed this evening, red led flickers for 5 secs and then stops, doesn't sound right to me Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Well that means it's paired. There must be another issue if its now not firing. Does the vertical orange light come on in the cabin when you press on - I fact does the light on the fob go from Amber to green? " Land Rover Addict

No, pressing the on button on the fob just results in red flashing LED

Never looked for a light in the cab!

I'm on my mobile so can't see what version of the l322 you have. If it's pre 09 then it's above the 'on' switch for audio etc.

Best bet is to try timed climate - set it for 5 minutes in the future and see what happens while you are sat in it.... Land Rover Addict

I would have thought the remote is irrelevant. It should operate from the IID Tool. I assumed this would be independent of outside temperature since it is for diagnostic purposes.

I need to have a look at mine soon as that stopped operating last winter - I assumed it was the battery voltage but it still doesn't seem to be working even with a new battery.

My brother suggested I try the Purge function on the IID Tool as that cleared his FBH out on his D4. I think this should operate regardless of the temperature. It produces lots of smoke though, apparently. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

As far as I can understand IID does operate regardless of temperature.

Sat in the car, having tried timed function, all seems to kick in, blowers on, air duct paddles move, big whiring noise from under front near side wing, so at least something is working, neither the remote nor IID got that far.

Problem is I'm not sure there's any heat, and I don't have time for further investigation today, oh and the whiring stop for 2 seconds, carried on then stopped again Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
